VERA LUCIANI | DESIGNING NATURAL SWIMMING POOLS AND GARDENS ACCORDING TO NATURE

Vera Luciani has over twenty years of professional experience creating unique and personalized green spaces inspired by nature, where water and plants coexist to create a perfect harmony with the surrounding landscape.

As Vera usually says, “the earth sings to us and, if we know how to listen to it, it has a lot to tell us”. And this is, precisely, what Vera does: she pays her utmost attention to nature and tunes into its settings. In designing private gardens or public parks, she takes special care in placing natural swimming pools and ponds where they best complement their existing natural habitat. Hence, the space is like a theatrical scene where one can experience nature in all of its scents, shapes and forms. It is here that natural pools take on a symbolic and functional value which, based on nature’s peculiar and expressive power, become enveloping daily companions.

Vera Luciani, who is also a member of the Italian Bio-architecture Foundation, bases her work on these core concepts combined with the careful research and selection of plants and materials she uses to create her gardens and natural pond. In particular, she takes special care in selecting her water plants, whose function is to purify the bathing water of the natural pools she creates, which, in order to insure the environmental sustainability of her work, does not include the use of chemical substances.

Her gardens are created on the basis of her botanical knowledge and her expertise in the materials she uses, in phyto-depuration techniques, and in the design and construction methods of natural pools. She also acquired her soil bioengineering knowledge through the studies she carried out in Switzerland, during the 1990s. She then perfected and transferred her knowledge working with her professional team at Officine Marchesi 1815, who she personally trained.

In Italy she designed a large number of both gardens and natural pools for private owners, entrepreneurs, holiday farms and luxury resorts. These are a testimony of the level of extremely high professiolanism and experience of both Vera Luciani’s and her team making her entreprise one of the most important in the field of landsclape design in Italy. Over the last few years she has been increasingly sought after by those who aim to improve their green spaces while respecting the surrounding natural environment and its delicate balance.

She has also received recognition at the international level for her talent and creativity as she is frequently invited to participate to speak at international conferences and meetings in the field of garden and landscape design.
